Optimized for Mission Assurance The goal of the Cyber Security Community of
Practice (CoP) is to raise awareness on Cyber Security
threats, protections and consequences, to enable
leaders, professionals and consumers to make intelligent
trade-offs with respect to information sharing, business
interactions, technology adoption, policymaking and
threat mitigation. |
 |
Cyber
Security Community Aims:
 |
Dispel
the widely held notion that Cyber Security
is purely a technology problem. Cyber
Security is an economic and societal
problem, with financial consequences and
systemic risks. |
 |
Evangelize
mission assurance. Prepare agency,
business and technology professionals to
make informed decisions on cyber security
policies, actions and solutions, which
balance mission objectives, risk
tolerances and investment. |
 |
Debunk
common, risk laden, Cyber Security myths
that permeate executive consciousness,
such as the equivalence of regulatory
compliance and security, and that security
and risk concerns begin and end at the
enterprise boundary. |
 |
Provide
a not-for-profit, vendor neutral,
collaboration venue for cyber security
experts from government, business and
technology organizations to discuss,
develop and promote cyber security best
practices. |
 |
Create
a vibrant practitioner community for the
exchange of information on threat
detection and prevention patterns,
intrusion mitigation, assurance practices,
and enterprise risk management. |
